Arctic Valley Ski Team

The Arctic Valley Ski Team is the ski racing and ski education arm of the Anchorage Ski Club. The 2018/2019 ski season was the first in nearly 20 years the Anchorage Ski Club hosted a race team and the inaugural 21st-century team qualified several athletes for regional and divisional races...and more importantly, we had FUN!

Head Coach: Tony Naciuk

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Anthony (Tony) Naciuk started racing at the Edmonton Ski Club's 100ft river valley slope. Weekend trips to the Rockies and a fun, competitive atmosphere helped him develop into an elite racer. After competing on the Alberta Ski Team for 4 years and qualifying for training camps with the Canadian Alpine Ski Team, he made his best move yet - accepting Sparky Anderson's offer to compete for the University of Alaska Anchorage. Over his 4 years as a Student-Athlete, Tony earned many top 10 NCAA finishes, qualified twice for the NCAA Championships and was named Ski Team MVP twice.

Always keeping school a priority he earned honors in his Bachelors of Business Administration, double majoring in Logistics and Finance. Not done with learning, he is studying for the Chartered Financial Analyst Level 1 Test in December.

Tony doesn't slow down in his spare time, pursuing hobbies such as backcountry skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, weight lifting and hiking.

Tony is enthusiastic and his roots from a small hill in Edmonton will cater to Arctic Valley Ski Team's success!
