Working cooperatively with Alaska State Parks, we have negotiated a final concession contract that will allow the Anchorage Ski Club to continue to operate Arctic Valley Ski Area. This concession contract gives us the certainty we need to get financing, large-scale fundraising, and donations to make major improvements to the ski area while increasing recreational opportunities at Arctic Valley.
As part of our concession agreement with Alaska State Parks, Anchorage Ski Club (ASC) developed a Strategic Plan to define our concepts for the future of Arctic Valley. This plan incorporates input from our community collected through planning workshops, focused advisory groups and survey responses from over 400 community members. The plan’s reviewing stakeholders are as follows, Anchorage Ski Club Board of Directors, the Chugach State Park Advisory Board, and partners from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation.
As part of our Strategic Plan, the Anchorage Ski Club (ASC) is committed to developing a Master Plan. With the Master Plan ASC wishes to develop the area in a manner compatible with its existing character, and to expand and diversify its uses to serve the community to the optimum extent, while maintaining and enhancing qualities valued by existing users.
Immediate Action Plan
The Anchorage Ski Club (ASC) developed an Immediate Action Plan in spring 2021, to address immediate needs at the ski area, which can be addressed before the Master Plan is completed. If you’re interested in contributing to the Immediate Action Plan, please email us at email@example.com.
