Hi everyone,
Unfortunately Arctic Valley isn’t going to be open this weekend as we hoped.
Our lift maintenance staff has worked hard all summer and fall getting the lifts and equipment ready to go – including a huge effort two weeks ago to install the new T-bar haul rope. We got a decent amount of snow in November, but not quite enough to open yet. The top of the mountain is actually looking pretty good due to some additional snow last week. Unfortunately that precipitation was mixed from mid-mountain down, so we don’t have quite enough snow on the lower half of the mountain yet.
The forecast is for the current high pressure system to continue for the next week – but hopefully it breaks down earlier than that. One good storm coming in from the south with a foot plus of snow should be enough to open, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed and eyes on the forecast.
Our staff is ready to go – our lift ops staff just completed two days of training, the kitchen is all fired up and ready to sling pizzas, bartenders are ready to pour your favorite local brews, groomer operators have been moving snow building the tube park, and we’re all itching to get out and start riding! In the meantime, we hope you come up and go snow tubing (it’s included with your season pass!), or skin a lap while we’re still open to uphill travel.
Thank you for your support of Arctic Valley – we’re excited for this season and can’t wait to see you!
