Arctic Valley Ski Area hires a small staff of paid summer and winter seasonal employees so we can provide a consistent experience to our guests. Please note that some of these positions are weekend-only, some full-time, and all are based at Arctic Valley Ski Area.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is owned and operated by the Anchorage Ski Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a membership-based, community organization. Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring lift operators to work Saturdays & Sundays from late November to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area. This position has the option to pick up Thu/Fri shifts beginning in March.

This is an entry level position, and no prior experience is required. Applicants must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders, with their own equipment, and outdoor, winter-ready clothing.

Duties will include loading lifts, monitoring the unloading of lifts, shoveling, assisting with maintenance, interacting with guests, and other duties as assigned. Long periods of time standing outside are required.

Pay is $16/hr, plus a $2/hr bonus at the end of the season, and a $10 daily kitchen credit, plus hot drinks.

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. Reliable, winter-conditions-ready transportation is a must – it isn’t always easy to get to the hill! A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring a rental tech to work Saturdays & Sundays from early December to early April. Additional holiday hours are available, but not required.

Duties include explaining, fitting, testing, inspecting, and servicing rental skis and snowboards. Some familiarity with ski & snowboard equipment and maintenance is helpful. Strong customer service skills working with all ages and abilities to outfit the correct equipment is critical. Must be able to pass an open-book technical test after review of materials.

Pay is $15 per hour, including a free lunch and hot drinks. Upon completion of the season, employee will receive an additional $2 per hour worked bonus. 

This is an entry-level position – no prior experience is required. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
