The Anchorage Ski Club hires a small staff of paid winter seasonal employees so we can provide a consistent experience to our guests. Please note that some of these positions are weekend-only, some full-time (Wed-Sun), and all are based at Arctic Valley Ski Area.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is owned and operated by the Anchorage Ski Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a membership-based, community organization made up largely of volunteers. Our passion is for skiing and providing a low-cost, high quality ski experience for southcentral Alaskans.

Lodge Manager:

The Anchorage Ski Club is seeking a Lodge Manager for Arctic Valley Ski Area to oversee lodge operations during the coming ski season. The ideal applicant will share our passion for winter sports, and bringing quality outdoor experiences to Alaskans at a reasonable cost. This position is full-time (Wed-Sun), working afternoons and evenings.

Responsibilities include overseeing the front desk (ticket, membership, season pass and merchandise sales), kitchen and bar operations, as well as end of day accounting. The Lodge Manager supervises lodge employees and volunteers, as well as oversees the cleaning and maintenance of the lodge.

Customer service, cash handling, and credit card operations experience are required for this position. We strongly prefer applicants with prior ski industry, restaurant supervisory or management experience, a TAP card, and Food Production Manager Certification (ServSafe or equivalent).

Lift Maintenance/Groomer Tech

The Anchorage Ski Club is seeking a Maintenance/Groomer Tech for Arctic Valley Ski Area to assist with lift and grooming maintenance during the upcoming ski season. This position is full-time seasonal, starting in October and continuing through April. Schedule is Wednesday-Sunday.

Responsibilities include maintaining ski lifts and other equipment in accordance with Arctic Valley’s periodic maintenance schedule, performing repairs and modifications as necessary, keeping maintenance and operations records, performing regular maintenance and repairs on the groomer, and other duties as assigned.

Previous experience in ski lift or groomer/heavy equipment maintenance is preferred. Ability to work at heights on lift towers in all weather conditions is required. This position requires mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Applicants must be advanced skiers or snowboarders.

Please include a resume, statement of skiing/riding ability, and detail any past work with ski lifts and groomers.

Tube Park Supervisor:

The Anchorage Ski Club is currently seeking a tube park supervisor to work Wednesday-Sunday from late November to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area.

Prior supervisory and/or ski area experience is preferred. Duties include supervising tube park operators, interacting with guests, monitoring safety of equipment and tubing runs, and other duties as assigned. Prior experience, and some mechanical ability are preferred, though not required. Applicants must have their own outdoor, winter clothing (a company jacket is provided).

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Tube Park Operator:

The Anchorage Ski Club is currently seeking tube park lift operators to work Wednesday-Sunday from late November to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area.

Prior experience, and some mechanical ability are preferred, though not required. Applicants must have their own outdoor, winter clothing (a company jacket is provided). Duties will include loading and unloading the tube park lift, monitoring tube park and guest safety, shoveling, assisting with maintenance, answering inquiries, and other duties as assigned. Long periods of time standing outside are required.

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Lift Operations Supervisor

The Anchorage Ski Club is currently seeking a lift operations supervisor to work Saturdays & Sundays from the start of our ski season (sometime between late November and mid January depending on the snow) to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area.

Prior supervisory and/or ski area experience is preferred. Duties include supervising lift operators, interacting with guests, monitoring safety of equipment, first response to lift operator inquiries, and other duties as assigned. Prior experience, and some mechanical ability are preferred, though not required. Applicants must have their own outdoor, winter clothing (a company jacket is provided).

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Lift Operator:

The Anchorage Ski Club is currently seeking lift operators to work Saturdays & Sundays from the start of our ski season (sometime between late November and mid January depending on the snow) to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area.

Prior experience, and some mechanical ability are preferred, though not required. Applicants must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders, with their own equipment and outdoor, winter clothing (a company jacket is provided). Duties will include loading lifts, monitoring the unloading of lifts, shoveling, assisting with maintenance, interacting with guests, and other duties as assigned. Long periods of time standing outside will be required.

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Lodge Worker:

The Anchorage Ski Club is currently seeking lodge attendants to work either Wednesday-Sunday (full time) or Saturdays & Sundays (part time) from the start of our ski season (sometime between late November and mid January depending on the snow).

Prior kitchen and/or retail experience are preferred. Duties include preparing and cooking food, cleaning the kitchen and lodge, selling tickets, season passes and merchandise, answering guest inquiries, and other duties as assigned.

A current Food Workers Card is required (may be obtained online); current TAP card as well is helpful. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
