Arctic Valley Ski Area is owned and operated by the Anchorage Ski Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a membership-based, community organization made up largely of volunteers. Our passion is for skiing and providing a low-cost, high quality ski experience for southcentral Alaskans.

The Anchorage Ski Club is seeking a Lodge Manager for Arctic Valley Ski Area to oversee lodge operations during the coming ski season. The ideal applicant will share our passion for winter sports, and bringing quality outdoor experiences to Alaskans at a reasonable cost. This position is part-time, Saturdays and Sundays.
Responsibilities include overseeing the front desk (ticket, membership, season pass and merchandise sales), kitchen and bar operations, as well as end of day accounting. The Lodge Manager supervises lodge employees and volunteers, as well as oversees the cleaning and maintenance of the lodge.
Customer service, cash handling, and credit card operations experience are required for this position. We strongly prefer applicants with restaurant supervisory or management experience, a TAPS card, and Food Production Manager Certification (ServSafe or equivalent).
Lift Maintenance/Groomer Tech
The Anchorage Ski Club is seeking a Maintenance/Groomer Tech for Arctic Valley Ski Area to oversee lift maintenance and grooming during the upcoming ski season. This position is full-time seasonal, starting in October and continuing through April. Typical schedule is Wednesday-Sunday; though a 4/10 (Thursday-Sunday) schedule is possible.
Responsibilities include maintaining ski lifts and other equipment in accordance with Arctic Valley’s periodic maintenance schedule, performing repairs and modifications as necessary, keeping maintenance and operations records, winch-grooming the mountain, performing regular maintenance and repairs on the groomer, and other duties as assigned.
Previous experience in ski lift maintenance or grooming is preferred. Ability to work at heights on lift towers in all weather conditions is required. This position requires mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Applicants must be advanced skiers or snowboarders.

Lift Operations Supervisor:
The Anchorage Ski Club is seeking a Lift Operations Supervisor for Arctic Valley Ski Area to oversee lift operations during the upcoming ski season.
This position is part-time seasonal, starting in November and continuing through April. Work schedule is Friday-Sunday during operational hours, approximately 26-30 hours/week.
Responsibilities include supervising Arctic Valley’s lift operations staff, communicating issues with the lifts and other maintenance needs, assisting with maintenance activities as required, and other duties as assigned. Arctic Valley Ski Area is open Saturday-Sunday only, so duties those days will be focused around operational supervision. Duties other days will be focused on snow removal, periodic maintenance, and other projects.
Previous experience in ski lift operations, and prior supervisory experience, is preferred. Applicants must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders, with their own equipment and outdoor, winter clothing.
The Anchorage Ski Club is currently seeking lift operators to work Saturdays & Sundays from the start of our ski season (sometime between late November and mid January depending on the snow) to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area.
Prior experience, and some mechanical ability are preferred, though not required. Applicants must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders, with their own equipment and outdoor, winter clothing. Duties will include loading lifts, monitoring the unloading of lifts, shoveling, assisting with maintenance, interacting with guests, and other duties as assigned. Long periods of time standing outside will be required.
A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
The Anchorage Ski Club is currently seeking lodge attendants to work Saturdays & Sundays from the start of our ski season (sometime between early December and mid January depending on the snow). Lodge attendants report to the Lodge Manager and/or General Manager. Paid lodge attendants supplement the fantastic team of volunteers who are the backbone of our operation.
Prior kitchen and/or retail experience are preferred. Duties include preparing and cooking food; cleaning the kitchen and lodge; selling tickets, season passes and merchandise; answering guest inquiries; and other duties as assigned.
A current Food Workers Card is required; current TAP card as well is helpful. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
