Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring part-time ski and snowboard instructors for winter 2021-22. This is a unique opportunity: our lessons will be focused on off-trail riding, and backcountry riding skills, not your typical beginners on the rope tow (though there will probably be a little of that, as well). If you have a strong backcountry riding background, and PSIA-AASI certification, we want to talk to you! We may also work with folks who have worked professionally in the backcountry, but do not have PSIA-AASI certifications.
These positions are winter part-time seasonal, beginning when Arctic Valley opens (targeted for 2nd week of December), working Saturdays & Sundays through closing (targeted for mid-April). Opportunities may exist for additional hours on Thursday & Friday beginning in March.
We’re excited to offer lessons targeting those who want to become better off-trail and backcountry skiers! Our occasional backcountry travel and skills clinics the past few years have pointed to a need for regular lessons targeting this demographic.
Arctic Valley is a non-profit, equal opportunity employer. We do not offer housing, transportation, or sponsor work visas. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
Summer Lift Operator
Arctic Valley Ski Area needs occasional help during the summer with lift operations. Most shifts are weekends and weekday evenings, with some daytime shifts available. All shifts are on-call, and no firm commitment is required due to the occasional nature of the work.
Duties consist of assisting foot passenger guests loading and unloading from the chairlift, and occasionally running the lift for maintenance staff.
Employees must be friendly, personable, and have previous lift operations experience.
Pay is $12/hr, with food and refreshments provided each shift. Minimum pay is 6 hours per day, but most shifts last 2-3 hours.
