Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring a barista and kitchen cashier to work Saturdays & Sundays from late November to mid April.

Applicants should have some prior experience making espresso drinks. Applicants must hold a Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler’s Card (can be obtained after hiring). Duties include making espresso, taking orders (both coffee and food), running orders, cleaning the kitchen, and other duties as assigned.

Pay is $12 per hour plus tip share, plus a $2/hr bonus at the end of the season, and includes a $10 daily kitchen credit. 

Reliable, winter-conditions-ready transportation is a must. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring a bartender to work Saturdays & Sundays from mid-December to mid-April at Arctic Valley Ski Area. This position will transition later in the day as the ski area’s hours increase, working an 11am-7pm schedule in the spring. Opportunities to work 4 days/week start in March, with Thursday/Friday afternoon/evening shifts. 

Previous bartending experience preferred, and a valid Alaska TAP card is required. Duties include selling beer, wine, and food, entering sales in POS system, cleaning bar area, upstairs level of the lodge, beer deck, and other duties as assigned.

Pay is $12 per hour plus tip share, plus a $2/hr bonus at the end of the season, and includes a $10 daily kitchen credit. 

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. Reliable, winter-conditions-ready transportation is a must. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring cooks to work Saturdays & Sundays from late November to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area. 

This is an entry-level position, with no prior experience required. Applicants must hold a Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler’s Card (can be obtained after hiring). Duties include preparing food, cleaning the kitchen, stocking, assisting with ordering, and other duties as assigned.

Pay is $15 per hour plus tip share, plus a $2 per hour bonus at the end of the contract, and includes a shift meal. There will be occasional opportunities for skiing/riding on slower days.

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. Reliable, winter-conditions-ready transportation is a must. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring an entry level Lift & Groomer Mechanic.

This is a great position for someone who wants to develop skills, learn about the ski industry, and be outside this winter! 

This position is full-time seasonal, starting October 26. Typical schedule is Wednesday-Sunday, but may vary during snowmaking (early-mid November) and school holidays. This position generally works 9am-5pm Wednesday, and 12pm-8pm Thursday-Sunday. 

Responsibilities include maintaining ski lifts and other equipment in accordance with Arctic Valley’s periodic maintenance schedule, performing repairs and modifications as necessary, keeping maintenance and operations records, performing regular maintenance and repairs on snow groomers and buildings, responding to inquiries from operations, and other duties as assigned. 

Pay is $19.50/hour, plus a $10 daily kitchen credit and hot drinks in the winter while the ski area is open.

Ability to work at heights on lift towers in all weather conditions is required. Some mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic experience is preferred but not required. Applicant must be an advanced skier or snowboarder.

This position requires the ability to work outside in all conditions, stand, kneel, feel and manipulate objects with fingers, visually inspect equipment, listen to machinery for abnormal sounds, stand and work on ladders and other equipment above ground level for extended periods of time.

Reliable transportation is required. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and will undergo a background check.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring a lift operations supervisor to work Saturdays & Sundays from late November to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area. 

Preferred candidates will have either previous supervisory experience or previous lift operations experience. Applicants must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders, with their own equipment, and outdoor, winter-ready clothing. Duties include overseeing lift operators, basic troubleshooting of equipment, and other duties as assigned. Long periods of time standing outside are required.

Pay is $16 per hour, plus a $2 per hour bonus at the end of the contract, and includes a $10 daily kitchen credit and free hot drinks.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring lift operators to work Saturdays & Sundays from late November to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area. This position has the option to pick up Thu/Fri shifts beginning in March.

This is an entry level position, and no prior experience is required. Applicants must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders, with their own equipment, and outdoor, winter-ready clothing.

Duties will include loading lifts, monitoring the unloading of lifts, shoveling, assisting with maintenance, interacting with guests, and other duties as assigned. Long periods of time standing outside are required.

Pay is $13/hr, plus a $2/hr bonus at the end of the season, and a $10 daily kitchen credit, plus hot drinks.

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. Reliable, winter-conditions-ready transportation is a must – it isn’t always easy to get to the hill! A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring a paid Marketing & Events Coordinator. This is a great opportunity to develop skills marketing to outdoor recreational users, hosting events, skiing/riding, and having a lot of fun!

Duties include:

  • Hosting weekly events to draw additional guests to Arctic Valley
  • Creating and curating a photo/video library for marketing purposes
  • Writing and designing weekly marketing emails
  • Creating social media posts
  • Designing eye catching graphics for use in social media, print advertising, and more
  • Updating Arctic Valley’s website

This position will host events on Sundays to draw skiers & riders to Arctic Valley, and work other days as needed to develop a photo/video library. Additional remote work hours will be used to perform marketing tasks. 

Some experience with the following tools are preferred, but not required: Facebook, Instagram, Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress.

This position pays $13/hr, plus a $2/hr bonus at the end of the season, and includes a $10 daily kitchen credit and hot drinks.

Applicants must be at least intermediate skiers or snowboarders with their own gear. Applicants must have reliable winter-ready transportation to Arctic Valley.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring a plow truck driver and maintenance assistant to work Wednesday-Sunday from mid November to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area. 

Prior snowplowing experience is preferred but not required. Duties will include plowing the road and parking lots, clearing snow by hand and with a snowblower from walkways and decks, assisting mechanics with various projects on the lifts and equipment, and other duties as assigned.

Pay is $15 per hour, plus a $2 per hour bonus at the end of the contract, and includes a $10 daily kitchen credit and free hot drinks.

A high level of responsibility and reliability are absolutely required. Reliable, winter-conditions-ready transportation is a must. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a clean dri.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring part-time ski and snowboard instructors for winter 2022-23. Current or past PSIA-AASI certifications are preferred, though not required. Candidates should be advanced/expert level riders, and at least have some teaching/instruction experience (not necessarily on-snow).

These positions are winter part-time seasonal, beginning when Arctic Valley opens (targeted for 2nd week of December), working Saturdays & Sundays through closing (targeted for mid-April). Opportunities may exist for additional hours on Thursdays & Fridays beginning in March, and during school holidays.

Pay is $17/hr, plus a $10/day kitchen credit and hot drinks.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring ski patrollers for the winter 2022-23 season. This position is Saturdays & Sundays until March, then Thursday-Sunday for the remainder of the season (mid-late April). 

Current Outdoor Emergency Care or equivalent certification is required (course may be challenged if applicant has an appropriate medical background). Background on a snow safety team and relevant avalanche class certifications are helpful, but not required.

Pay is $15 per hour, plus a $2/hr bonus for completing the season, a $10 daily kitchen credit, and free hot drinks.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring snowmakers for fall 2022. This is a temporary position, beginning in October or early November as temperatures allow, and running through late November or later as needed.

Pay is $16/hr, plus a $2/hr bonus at the end of the contract. After completion of the snowmaking season, employees may move to tube park crew or lift operations, or take a season pass.

Afternoon/evening and night shifts are available – snowmaking runs 24/7. Overnight shifts are 12 hours (4 hrs overtime), evening shifts are 8 hours.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. No prior experience is required, though a strong work ethic and willingness to work varied shifts is required.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring snow cat operators to work November-April.

Some prior experience with snowcats or heavy equipment is preferred, but not required. Excellent hand-eye coordination, ability to multi-task, and a level of fitness are required to be successful. Candidates should be self-starters and able to work independently.

Two positions are available:

  • Winch grooming, primarily working an evening/overnight/early morning shift, but hours can be somewhat flexible dependent on the operator. Typical schedule is Thursday and Friday nights, with Wednesday nights added starting in March.
  • Base area grooming, working Saturday/Sunday early mornings, potentially adding Thursday/Friday mornings starting in March (not required).

Pay is $20/hr.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring ticket sellers to work Thursdays through Sundays from late November to early April.

Duties include selling lift and tubing tickets, taking food orders, selling merchandise, answering guest inquiries in person, via phone, and email, resolving customer issues, and assisting with janitorial duties. 

Pay is $14 per hour, plus a $2/hr season completion bonus, a daily $10 kitchen credit, and hot drinks.

This is an entry-level position – no prior experience is required. A background check will be performed on all applicants. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Arctic Valley Ski Area is hiring tube park operators to work Thursday-Sunday from late November to early April at Arctic Valley Ski Area. This positions works 8 hour days Thu/Fri, and 10 hour days Sat/Sun, plus all school holidays. 

This is an entry-level position, with no prior experience required. Duties include loading and unloading the tubing lift, shoveling, interacting with guests, and other duties as assigned. Long periods of time standing outside are required.

Pay is $14 per hour, plus a $2 per hour bonus at the end of the contract, and includes a $10 daily kitchen credit and free hot drinks. When possible, tube park operators have the opportunity to take ride breaks during the day.
