Education at Arctic Valley

POLICIES
- A minimum of 24-hours’ notice is required to change a lesson time and date. If not, the lesson will be forfeited. Changes can be made by emailing Arctic valley at info@arcticvalley.org (monitored Wed-Sun).
- In case of illness, email info@arcticvalley.org before the start of the lesson to request a reschedule.
- All lessons are final and non-refundable.
- Absences will not be refunded or made-up.
- If you are late for a lesson, that time will be forfeited from your lesson.
- If Arctic Valley cancels a lesson for any reason, a refund will be provided.
- We do not guarantee weather or conditions, open terrain or number of lifts operating.
- Parents/guardians are required to pick-up children under 13 at the end of their lessons.
- Max group size of 5. keep in mind that lessons will be less individualized the more students there are.
- If you are renting equipment here, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the lesson start time to experience the whole lesson time.
- Lessons may be available at the ticket counter, but availability is not guaranteed. Please book online, and reach out to us at 907-301-1031 or info@arcticvalley.org with questions.
Pricing
Lesson costs are based on duration and number of students. The base price is $75 for one hour for one student. An additional hour is $50, and additional students are $25 each.

Introduction to Backcountry
Note: We do not currently have this class scheduled for winter 2023
This is an excellent place to start if you are just getting into backcountry skiing. This is a 1.5-day class that teaches participants basic avalanche awareness, companion rescue, and provides an introduction to the concepts and equipment used in backcountry skiing and recreating.
Backcountry Riding Skills

Are you new to backcountry skiing or snowboarding? Do you want to make the most of your “earned turns?” This is a full-day clinic focused on backcountry skiing and riding skills in preparation for truly enjoying your backcountry experience.
A key aspect of the Anchorage Ski Club’s mission is to provide a venue for winter and alpine sports education. To this end, ASC offers the Arctic Valley lodge to organizations that wish to advance and promote winter sports and winter safety through education and experience.
