On Tuesday, February 27th the Anchorage Assembly approved a change to our ARPA grant that allows us to build two new public use cabins. These two new cabins will go in our lower parking lot on the west side of the road, near the existing outhouse, where the little-used picnic shelters currently sit.
These cabins will be ADA-accessible, and sleep 4 people each. They’ll each have a heat source (type TBD), and will be open year-round. When they’re completed, we’ll have 4 public use cabins, including the one at the top of Chair 2 (only available in the summer), and the one we’re currently building nearby, further south. Taken together, these will provide additional opportunities for the public in Southcentral to experience Arctic Valley, and provide additional revenue that we’ll use to improve the summer and winter guest experience.
